Still in love with the bike after 40 years having raced at not a very good standard on both the track and road in my youth and during my second Youth as a
40+ in the vets league.
More recently taken to club riding and enjoy some multiday rides either Bikepacking or Touring and have been lucky enough to undertake some very exciting rides.
My first experience of the bike coming when my estranged Father bought me a second hand bike in order to make the trip to see him. A distance of 16 miles this seemed like an awful long way at the time.
Realising how much i enjoyed cycling my Mum encouraged me to visit Alexandra Park the "velodrome" in Portsmouth which saw me hooked.

I think I had a mid life crisis! On my 40th Birthday I asked my husband for a road bike! My last bike was rusting away in my parents shed with probably less than 30 miles on the clock and last used 20 years ago!
Skip five years on & I was part of a great cycling club called the ITEAM and helped start and lead the Ladies group. We had our own kit & we went on some amazing ventures!
I am more of a Social rider, I enjoy a more gentle pace, but i have been really lucky to have ridden ‘Ride 100’ in London three times, cycled all over France.
Some trips including beats such as Mont Ventoux, Alp De Huez and the Col du Tourmalet!
My hardest ride was riding The Etape Stage 15 in 2016. The final climb was the ascent of the Col Joux Plan and its legendary descent in 40c+ degrees!
